About this item

This chore chart and allowance system teaches your kids how money really works, using printable play money: they do chores, get a paycheck, pay "family tax," bank their earnings, pay bills, earn interest on savings and shop at a Family Store, all with play money. I built this for my own house because a simple chore chart never explained where money comes from or where it goes.

It comes in two levels, so it grows with your child. Level 1 (ages 4 to 7) keeps it simple with illustrated chore cards, $1 and $5 bills and Spend / Save / Share jars. Level 2 (ages 8 to 12) adds a weekly work log, paychecks with gross pay, bonuses, fines and a 10% family tax, a bank ledger, bills like screen-time rent, and compound interest on savings (a $10 balance grows to $31.37 in a year at the family rate).

About this design: Designed by SensorySketchHub using AI-assisted design tools, with every card and page individually reviewed, edited and laid out in-house for clarity and a child-friendly tone.

WHAT'S INCLUDED (22 pages) • Parent guide, weekly payday ritual, suggested wages and prices by age, worked sample payday • Play money: $1, $5, $10 and $20 bills plus realistic, actual-size coins: penny (1¢), nickel (5¢), dime (10¢), quarter (25¢), half-dollar (50¢) and dollar coin ($1) • Job Board poster and 24 illustrated chore cards with a blank pay line • Spend / Save / Share jar labels with coloring trackers • Weekly Work Log, paycheck stubs (2 per page), bank ledger, savings interest chart • 8 bill cards, 4 bonus cards and 4 optional fine cards • Family Store menu with 8 illustrated rewards, 12 price tags and 3 receipts • Savings goal thermometer, 8 blank cards, thank-you page

FILES AND SIZES • 3 PDFs: US Letter, A4 and a low-ink Letter version • 2 editable Word (.docx) files, US Letter and A4: type your own chore names, pay, store items, prices and bills • Bills print about 3.8 x 1.7 in; chore cards about 3.8 x 2.3 in • This is a digital download. Nothing physical is shipped.

HOW TO USE Print on cardstock, cut and laminate the money and cards. Post the Job Board on the fridge. Pick one payday a week, fill in the paycheck together, split the pay into Spend / Save / Share, and open the Family Store.

FAQ • Can I set my own pay and prices? Yes, every wage and price is a blank you fill in. • Is it editable? Yes. Editable Word (.docx) files are included: change chore names, pay, prices, store items and bills in Microsoft Word (recommended for best layout), then print. The PDFs are print-and-write. • Is the money realistic? The bills are an original "Family Bank" design, one-sided and marked PLAY MONEY · NO CASH VALUE. The coins use realistic public-domain U.S. Mint coin images printed at actual size, so kids learn to recognize real coins. • Refunds? Digital files can't be returned, but message me and I'll fix any file problem fast.

Picture Friday payday at your kitchen table: your child counting net pay, dropping coins in the Save jar and deciding if that toy is worth it.
